These jeans come to us from Ben Sorrell of Texas who wore them every day for a year at first, and then sporadically after that. As he’s a printmaker, some ink has gotten on the jeans here and there. Still, Ben embraced it, and wore the jeans while he finished up college, doing printmaking, painting, working, and studying art history.
At one point Ben removed the blank leather patch and added it inside the jeans with his named stamped on it. At the same time, Ben was studying sashiko-style repairs and used what he learned to do the crotch blow out repairs himself. In total, it was 10 patches of denim there, but he’s swapped them out for two. These jeans are now in hibernation while Ben stitches other people’s jeans and works on a pair of Levi’s 501 he’s fading now.
