Having been milled in India, this madras is full of authentic flair. The way that the cotton is spun and woven means the surface of the fabric has little slubs and irregularities, and the dyeing process means that each patch will age in its own unique way. Yes, this does mean that the fabric will bleed, but it’s these traditional details that make true madras such a joy to wear.
Constructed with a wide, boxy fit and featuring pockets at the waist and chest, this shirt rates highly on the effortlessly cool scale but also scores well on the pretty functional scale too. Those are real scales, by the way. Don’t check, though, just trust me.
