Vanish Into Blue With Freewheelers 601XX 1951 Jeans

Levi’s of the late 1940s—early 1950s are among the most sought-after vintage garments ever made. It’s hard enough to get your hands on a nasty, beat-up pair – let alone a deadstock piece. But this is why we have repros and why we love those reproduction brands who make such tasteful renditions of the classics.

Freewheelers “Vanishing West” makes a helluva repro and their 601xx 1951 jeans are right on the money. A one-wash, orange selvedge denim that emulates that old skool Cone denim, the fabric flaunts that delicious deadstock color that’s pretty much impossible to find out in the modern world. A deerskin patch with a cheeky parody of the original Levi’s waist patch adds a little something to the par-for-the-course details.

Heavy-duty copper rivets at points of strain, silver-plated buttons, and selvedge twill pocket bags exist in perfect harmony with the jean’s straight-tapered fit.
