Corlection Releases Monstrous ‘Oni Island’ Collaboration With Momotaro Jeans

Corlection and Momotaro have gone all out on their latest collaboration which offers up three different fits in a specially designed 14.7 oz. copper label denim. Channeling the myths of Japanese folklore through our favorite fabric, the ONI-ISLAND capsule collection references the story of the warrior Momotaro or ‘Peach Boy’ as he’s known, defeating the ONI Demon with the help of his trusted allies. The base of the brand concept for Momotaro Jeans and a strong narrative throughout their collections, this is where Momos infamous ‘Battle Stripe’ comes from.

The Corlection x Momotaro triple threat denim offering is based on the standard copper label denim which is then dyed with grand indigo for a darker tone, deeper texture, and higher contrasting fading. With a typical Japanese slub and uneven texture (a reference to the rough battleground of ONI Island), the denim is accompanied by a smokey black thread on the inseam, inverted copper label arcs on the back pockets (to represent the ONI Demon’s horns), blacked-out fly buttons (which will age to a golden peach color over time), copper hardware, indigo dyed yoke lining and ‘bloody’ red pocket bags featuring the demon himself.

And if that wasn’t enough, the deerskin back patch is indigo dyed with an embossed design, along with a graphic pocket card to mark the occasion. Available in a straight, slim, and high tapered fit, the collection has an offering for all die-hard denim heads.

And when you go into battle with the great ONI Demon, mark sure you’ve got the accompanying ONI Island bandanna as your battle flag. Available in navy and red, the bandana is discharge printed and made from a Japanese lightweight cotton twill. Featuring the face of the demon himself and Kanji characters “惡魔暴統集結” (which translate to ‘Violent Demon Squad’), be assured that this cloth companion will serve you well in all future denim battles.
