Viberg’s Makes Up Its Halkett Boot In C.F. Stead’s Eco Veg-Tan Suede

Boots can make any outfit just that much better. Well, maybe boots with shorts is still sorta on the edge of acceptability, but boots help most outfits. With that in mind, I think you should give the latest Viberg boot a look.

I’ve seen a lot of great boot releases of late, but the Halkett Boot in ‘Eco veg-tan’ suede from the Canadian boot maestros is a standout. Viberg went to C.F. Stead for this ecologically sound suede. It’s metal-free, sourced from grass-fed stock local to C.F. Stead in the U.K., and the finished product is biodegradable pursuant to BS EN ISO 20200:2015. And with the way these boots look, I’d be jealous of whatever patch of ground had the pleasure of swallowing these up for the next however-many years.

The Halkett is based from a 1940s-era Canadian Military Officer pattern and is a bit dressier than the classic Service Boot silhouette. Viberg used their 2020 last, stating – “We wanted to find the balance between our traditional almond toe 2030 and semi anatomical 2040 last while allowing for an elegantly shaped shoe.”

Made by artisans in Canada, the boots feature some handy speed hooks, a folded cap toe, Goodyear Welt construction, and Dainite soles. The gorgeous leather is just the cherry on top of an already great boot.

The Halkett is now available for $825 from Viberg
