Fade Friday – Naked & Famous Deep Indigo Rigid Selvedge (5 Years, Unknown Washes)

CrêpeSalée in France has gotten some major mileage out of their Naked & Famous Deep Indigo Rigid Selvedge jeans and has the fades to prove it. Kinda like when you cut into a tree trunk to see its rings, which in turn tell its age.

Now from the thickness and quantity of the honeycombs behind the knees, I can tell that Crêpe bought these jeans 5 years ago and has put about 2.5 years worth of wear into them. Yeah, I’m that good. But what’s really cool about the honeycombs themselves is their doubling effect. It looks like the pattern was printed on an ink block for goodness sake. I mean look at those cool shadows.

But in addition to some great whiskering and craters around the knees, what stands out about this pair is the character within the fabric itself. With long thin streaky scratches running throughout, it’s impossible to get bored studying the wear on these jeans. And I think our submitter would agree, wearing them so much that they’ve had a ton of repair work done, only adding to their appeal, of course.
