Heddels+ Members Can Grab a TCB Type II for under $200 Including Shipping

Ah, the trusty Type II Denim Jacket. Levi’s seriously killed it with his silhouette, which was only issued for a short while from 1953 until the 557XX (Type III) was ushered in during the early 1960s. Sure, Levi’s has made the odd Type II here and there over the years, but its the Japanese denim brands that have really taken the ubiquitous silhouette and made it their own. One such brand is the forever-popular TCB.

TCB takes repro seriously, and has used original Levi’s Type IIs to inform all elements of its ’50s’ Jacket silhouette. It’s got all the hallmarks of a classic Levi’s Type II — a slightly longer fit than the Type 1, pleats that run down beside the button placket, the iconic dual low-sitting chest pockets, and adjusting tabs at the waist — but its made from Japanese-milled selvedge denim, formulated to look like the original 50s Levi’s fabrics. I said damn.

There are dozens of Type II repros out there, but if you needed convincing, simply look at this faded TCB 50s Jacket submitted to us by TCB fanboy and Superfuture user, Volvo. But wait, I can sweeten the deal even more.

Available at Okayama Denim for $220.
