Fade Friday – Iron Heart IH-526L 19 oz. Left-Hand Twill Type III Jacket (7 Months, 2 Soaks)

In the raw denim world, legs get a lot of attention. Well, not exactly legs per se, but, you know —what’s covering them. So, it’s always nice when a Fade Friday submission steals the spotlight from the bottom half, reminding us that other garments need our attention too.

And for that we have Mo to thank, our knight in indigo armor over in England bringing his Iron Heart Type III Denim Jacket to the fading block. Weighing in at a whopping 19 oz., this Left-Hand Twill Selvedge jacket has been worked in hard for the last 7 months with 1 prep-soak holding things down beforehand and one pitstop in the tub after 5 months in. Okay, now it only takes one look to realize these are faded waaaaay past their age, right? Well, that’s thanks to Mo’s profession.

Worn while working as a manual laborer unloading 40-foot containers, here is someone actually using their denim as workwear, with the whiskers and hues to prove it. Casting a dramatic, shadowy appearance,  Mo has definitely done some damage in just 7 months and he’s already got the formings of some grail elbow honeycombs, but the best is still to come, so we’ll be waiting patiently for an update.
