Iron Heart Releases ‘Overdyed Black’ Shirting Collection

I see a bright shirt and I want to sulfur dye it black. That’s what Iron Heart was humming when they needed a creative solution to turn some of their older stock into new products.

Achieved by literally dunking pieces into black sulfur dye, the process results in a more low-key look that casts a delightfully dark energy over each piece. As not to bury the lead any further, only a denim brand could make a non-fade-able garment, well, fade-able — and do so expertly. That’s right, expect the charred appearance of these pieces to brighten over time, revealing hints of what the piece looked like before the experiment.

Whether you are reaching for a Work Shirt or a Western, there might not be the brightest shirt in the wardrobe, but that’s just how we like’em.

Available from $350 at Iron Heart.
