Fade Friday – The Real McCoy’s Lot 004 (13 Months, 4 Washes)

It was seeing fades like this that got us into raw denim in the first place, so shoutout to “SLAB” from Belgium for submitting his pair of The Real McCoy’s Lot 004 jeans, which he’s been wearing for just over a year now. You might know SLAB from the Superfuture and Denimbro forums, and his passion for raw denim is apparent in the awesome fades he’s earned himself here to be this week’s Fade Friday.

SLAB tell us there’s not one particular activity that’s helped carve out these fades, but having three small children running around has definitely contributed! After four washes, the denim has developed a nice steely tone of indigo, which compliments the whiskers and faded lap perfectly. Train-track fades from the denim’s selvedge line run down the outseam, and meet with the clawmarks of a solid set of 360 degree honeycombs.

Both front pockets have earned some patina of their own, too, which is especially noticeable on the watch pocket. And even though these Real McCoy’s have needed some repairs to the crotch and knee areas, they’ve done definitely got some fadin’-fuel left in the tank.
