Thank God it’s Fade Friday! And to end a working week of solid fades, we’re shining the spotlight on this epic pair of Skull 5010XX 6X6 jeans sent into us by Jonathan Yang of California. Skull certainly doesn’t get enough love these days, but when we do get a pair pop up in our fade-inbox, they’re always belters!
Jonathan tells us he wore these jeans to school on a daily basis for just under two years, and that he also kept them on for hiking and even while playing basketball. As you can see, this has caused Jonathan’s Skulls to shed their indigo dye and form a high-definition wear pattern. The lap and seat have worn down completely, and are now almost white in tone. But luckily, the deep creases of the ‘combs and whiskers allow them to pop by holding darker tones of indigo. There are also plenty of stacks through which to sort.
As well as shooting hoops, Jonathan has shot through the right knee, leaving a gnarly hole, which is just one of the many battle scars on these Skulls. The extensive patches and tears might suggest these jeans don’t have much life left, but I wouldn’t be disappointed to see these framed in any denim boutique across the globe.
