Fade Friday – Mister Freedom Californian Lot 64 (2.5 Years, 1 Wash, 3 Soaks)

Chase Carson of  Chicago, Illinois has blessed this edition of Fade Friday with his stunning pair of  Mister Freedom jeans. To be honest, we don’t see anywhere near as much of Mister Freedom as we’d like ’round these parts, so this pair is an even more welcome submission.

Chase’s formula has been very simple:  wear ’em every day – “no funny business”. Working as a union scaffold builder, Chase puts his jeans to the test on the job site just as laborers did back when denim was the fabric and uniform of necessity. In fact, his jeans are a folk hero to the repro jeans and workwear doing time in relaxed dress code offices.

Chase says that these jeans are a prized possession. Although this is a statement you’d usually apply to a valuable heirloom or something – when someone’s unique routine, movements, and wear patterns start to form, jeans can become sentimental too. Especially when you’ve been wearing them daily for 2.5 years.

Fast forward past 2 sashiko style repairs by @iickygenes and 2 quick repairs by Mildblend Supply Co. and these jeans definitely have the look. Dim, glowing thighs and knees with dark shades of blue around the edges, and a set of beautiful honeycombs in the knee hinges. To top it off? Some nice patina on that signature Mister Freedom leather pocket patch.
