Tender’s Slimmer Flat Top Sunglasses Are Handmade In England

British-based Tender has carved out a niche for itself over the last few years as a brand that puts their heart and soul into their work. With a name taken from the Tender of a steam train, founder and owner William Kroll initially started out with denim but soon came to offer a wider range of apparel and sundries.

Working with small UK manufacturers, Kroll is very selective about who the brand works with and strives to build long-lasting, meaningful relationships. There is inherent attention to detail, care, and love which goes into Tender’s product and that’s evident with the brand’s Slimmer Flat Top Sunglasses. So much so that Redcast Heritage even wrote a blog post detailing exactly how they’re made.

Besides being damn good-looking shades, the devil is in the detail here; handmade in England from a full-thickness sheet of 8 mm. cotton acetate, the ‘Moc Turtle’ colorway is undoubtedly a nod to classic sunglasses of the past but with a penchant for modern sartorial sophistication.

Each pair is hand polished in order to smooth out any edges and amplify their stature. Added to that, the joints are made with new old stock 7-chenier hinges which are pinned to the frame, as well as fully UV protected green-grey colored lenses.
