Erik Holmlund of Öjebyn Norrbotten in Northern Sweden has some jeans that have some really great fading on them. Meh – I was thinking I could talk about them as a way to celebrate fading but also Friday? I don’t know, I’m distracted by these intense creases.
Erik’s 22 oz. classic selvedge from SOSO are everything but “so-so”. Worn for just over a year, originally for the Indigo Invitational Fade Competition, these jeans have been through some stuff, man. Whether skateboarding, spending time with his daughter, working as a high school teacher, snow blowing, and cutting the grass, Erik says there have been days where he has worn these jeans 24 hours as a time.
Spoiler alert, it paid off.
These fade injected jeans are wild. On the front side, the stress is quality over quantity. There aren’t a ton of whiskers around the lap and knees but the lines that have emerged are piercing. The overall gradient of blue hues is an indigo dream. On the flip side, the honeycombs are stacked like angry accordions and you just can’t look away. No, really, its taken me 3 hours to get this far.
