Thrifty Gifty 2 – 13 More Gifts Under $100

The guide so nice we wrote it twice! Response was so positive from our first sub $100 gift guide, we’ve put together another full of well made, responsibly sourced, and reasonably priced items that will be sure to light up whoever is fortunate enough to receive them (especially if that’s you).

1. Birkenstock Arizona EVA

Thrifty-Gifty-Part-2---12-More-Gifts-Under-$100-Birkenstock-Arizona-EVA

Birkencrocs. Plastibirks. Floating Arizonas. Whatever you call the EVA Birkenstocks, no one will begrudge finding their stocking slipped into a pair. The German sandal maker has taken their classic design, made it in lightweight injected plastic, and cut the price by like 70% despite still being made in Germany.

I was skeptical of them too, but they were one of only two pairs of shoes I took on a globetrotting adventure last year and I still use them all the time. They’re sandals, shower shoes, and if you pair them with a thick sock, slippers all in one! They’re also super light weight, compress easily and are very comfy.

Available for $50 at Stag Provisions.

2. Beams Japan Food Keychains

Thrifty-Gifty-Part-2---12-More-Gifts-Under-$100-Beams-Japan-Food-Keychains

Thrifty-Gifty-Part-2---12-More-Gifts-Under-$100-Elmer-By-Swany-Teddy-5Finger-Gloves

4. Sashiko Stitched Kitchen and Bath Towels

Thrifty-Gifty-Part-2---12-More-Gifts-Under-$100-Sashiko-Stitched-Kitchen-and-Bath-Towels

Sashiko running stitches are an centuries-old Japanese technique to add strength and longevity to fabric. And what fabric needs that more than the one you rub all over your body and countertops? These reinforced bath and kitchen towels have that same heritage at an everyday convenience.

Available in Kitchen and Bath sizes starting ag $22 at Kiriko.

5. Briefing Quilting Sacoche

Thrifty-Gifty-Part-2---12-More-Gifts-Under-$100-Briefing-Quilting-Sacoche

It’s not a purse, it’s a tactical carrying bag. Why it’s made out of recycled M65 ripstop jacket liners. And it can hold my wallet, phone, pens, flares, and a granola bar in case I get hungry later.

Ok, it might be a purse. But it’s a really effective and nicely made one that I’m sure anyone of any gender would appreciate.

Available for $100 at Hinoya.

6. Good Art Ear Cuff

Thrifty-Gifty-Part-2---12-More-Gifts-Under-$100-Good-Art-Ear-Cuff

If the term “ear cuff” only draws a blank expression, we are on the precipice of a new auricular jewelry sensation that you don’t even need a piercing for. The humble ear cuff simply attaches to the side of the ear like a mini version of what you’d put on your wrist. And there’s no better place to start than Good Art’s, which features three rosettes cast in sterling silver at their Los Angeles foundry.

Available for $88 at Iron Shop Provisions.

7. Burgus Plus Basque Shirt

Thrifty-Gifty-Part-2---12-More-Gifts-Under-$100-Burgus-Plus-Basque-Shirt

They call it the “Basque shirt” because they’d probably get sued for calling it the Picasso, but let’s be clear, this is a Picasso shirt. If you have an artist in your life, they’ll get this subtle allusion and that rakishly tilted pocket and wear it until it’s completely unrecognized by paint splatters.

Available for $51 at Sun House.

8. Alpaca Stuffed Animals

Thrifty-Gifty-Part-2---12-More-Gifts-Under-$100-Alpaca-Stuffed-Animals
