Birkencrocs. Plastibirks. Floating Arizonas. Whatever you call the EVA Birkenstocks, no one will begrudge finding their stocking slipped into a pair. The German sandal maker has taken their classic design, made it in lightweight injected plastic, and cut the price by like 70% despite still being made in Germany.

I was skeptical of them too, but they were one of only two pairs of shoes I took on a globetrotting adventure last year and I still use them all the time. They’re sandals, shower shoes, and if you pair them with a thick sock, slippers all in one! They’re also super light weight, compress easily and are very comfy.

2. Beams Japan Food Keychains

New Yorkers will know Key Foods, but have you ever heard of food keys? Beams Japan has this delightful series of keychains of extremely realistic food. There’s sunny side eggs and tempura shrimp like above, but also fried chicken, sushi, gyoza, and watermelon.

If the term “ear cuff” only draws a blank expression, we are on the precipice of a new auricular jewelry sensation that you don’t even need a piercing for. The humble ear cuff simply attaches to the side of the ear like a mini version of what you’d put on your wrist. And there’s no better place to start than Good Art’s, which features three rosettes cast in sterling silver at their Los Angeles foundry.

They call it the “Basque shirt” because they’d probably get sued for calling it the Picasso, but let’s be clear, this is a Picasso shirt.
