For many people, a wingman might be a friend at the bar but for Steve in Indonesia, it refers to a pair of pants. His Sherman Mk. II 23 oz. jeans from Wingman Denim to be exact.
Grilled for 8 months on the open flame that is Southeast Asia, they have gone through 2 hand washes and 2 soaks — I’m guessing one every month or so. Now at first, this might seem a little water-crazy. But then you learn he wears them daily for 16 hours straight. However, maybe that was a given for all the denim detectives out there. After all, it’s been less than a year in and we’re seeing monster fades out of the monster-weight denim. Something had to give.
So what am I going on about? Well, Steve has all the bells and whistles here: intense creasing around the knees and upper thigh, a set of captivating honeycombs, and a satisfyingly divisive leg twist. There’s also a great balance of dark and light indigo hues giving these jeans a classic look. It’s hard to imagine what another 8 months will do, but we have high hopes for an update from Steve.
