Fade Friday – Wrangler 14WMZ (1 Year, 4 Washes)

Caelan in Colorado is busting open the door to 2024 with his pair of Wrangler 14wmz jeans. Worn chiefly for Caelan’s work on a ranch, this edition of Fade Friday harks back to the workwear origins of a garment we love so much.

Worn for a year, there is a lifetime’s worth of expression between those faded denim creases but once you hear how they got here, you’ll see why we’re so stoked. Caeln wore these Wranglers as ‘dress’ jeans for the first 6 months to break ’em in before putting them to work.  And if his self-reference to jeans as being a ‘dress‘ garment didn’t give it away, we’re talking to a real-life rancher who rides horses and stuff. Then again, with heavy activity around the top block with honeycombs and whiskers dotting the legs, I’m sure some denim detectives could have figured out how he squeezed this indigo lemon.

Submitted to 4 washes — one every 6 weeks or so — during their tenor, Caelan has reverted these back to a casual jean for sake of preservation. But not to worry, this is not our cowboy’s first rodeo nor is it his last, which means he is probably working on a new pair of Wranglers as we speak.
