Fade of the Day – Momotaro Copper Label G014-MB (20 Months, 4 Washes)

It’s time for Fade Of The Day, and this go ’round we have a pair of wonderfully faded Momotaros, by way of Taiwan. A measured 20 months wear by denimhead Rex Liu has left these jeans with some epic fades, and a shrunken peach boy.

The first fade that caught our eye was the the whisker-to-thigh striations that can be seen covering the lap. On top of that, we’ve got some crispy honeycombs and faded pockets that give these Momos that lived-in look that all well-worn jeans should have.

Rex has certainly put his stamp on his jeans, accidentally shrinking the leather ‘peach boy’ patch whilst heat-shrinking the waistband, and having a custom silk-screen print applied to the back pocket. And even with all the distinct wear patterns, the character will only continue to grow with each wear—that’s the beauty of raw denim.
