Fade of the Day – Unknown Skinny Jeans (3 Years, Unknown Washes)

As much as we enjoy seeing well-worn pieces from our favorite raw denim makers, under-the-radar conundrums are always a fun trip, and today’s Fade of the Day submission is just that! Here’s what we know about this pair of patched-up skinnies: they’ve seen 36 months of wear and have plenty of repairs to speak of, along with some decent honeycombs and whiskers. What we don’t know is who made them, where they came from and what they’ve been through thus far!

You might remember our submitter, UK-based William Crabtree, from his battered Converse which we featured a few weeks ago – well, he sure seems to have the magic touch when it comes to fades! William says he’s twice repaired the knee on these jeans, with both cashmere and denim, along with several patches around the crotch and pocket from carrying his wallet. Last but not least, there’s a selection of areas that have been hand-darned with contrasting white thread.

The indigo-loss, twisted leg seam and honeycombs are all the evidence we need to suspect that William’s worn and washed them through and through, although we don’t think they’re quite ready for retirement just yet.

You can find William on Instagram.
